KILLEEN, TX — Police logs from Tuesday show two motor vehicle thefts in Killeen, along with multiple assault calls, a burglary, fraud complaints and several drug-related reports. The entries cover incidents across Killeen, Copperas Cove and Lampasas and provide a snapshot of the kinds of calls local officers handled during the day.
In Killeen, the first vehicle theft was reported before dawn on Trimmier Road, and a second was reported later in the evening on Cunningham Road. The city’s log also included reports of assault, larceny, narcotics offenses and burglary at locations spread from South 48th Street to Hereford Lane.
Killeen log includes thefts, assaults and a burglary
Killeen police listed a drug or narcotic offense at 1:04 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of South 48th Street, followed by another drug-related call at 1:18 a.m. on East Central Texas Expressway. Fraud was reported at 1 a.m. in the 3300 block of Community Boulevard.
Officers later recorded an assault at 8 a.m. in the 1500 block of Ferndale Drive and another at noon on Success Drive. Additional assault reports came in at 4:12 p.m. on Bundrant Drive, 6:39 p.m. on Gus Drive and 8:29 p.m. on Bermuda Drive. Police also logged larceny/theft at 5:41 p.m. on Doraine Court and burglary at 8:53 p.m. on Hereford Lane.
Two motor vehicle thefts reported hours apart in Killeen
The first motor vehicle theft in Killeen was reported at 4:38 a.m. Tuesday in the 4600 block of Trimmier Road. The second was reported at 6:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Cunningham Road. Police did not release details about the vehicles or say whether the two incidents were connected.
The day’s list also included another drug or narcotic offense at 6 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East Veterans Memorial Boulevard and South W.S. Young Drive. By evening, officers were still taking reports from around the city, including the burglary on Hereford Lane and several assault calls in different neighborhoods.
Copperas Cove reports range from firearm theft to family violence
Copperas Cove police records included a theft of a firearm at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Dixon Circle and an assault causing bodily injury-family violence at 10:44 a.m. in the 700 block of Joe Lombardi Way. Officers also reported an assault by contact-family violence later in the day on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Other entries involved controlled substances, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. Police also noted a burglary of a vehicle and engaging in organized criminal activity at 2:35 p.m. in the 400 block of South 25th Street, along with an unattended death at 6 p.m. in the 2300 block of Vernice Drive.
Arrests and court warrants appear throughout Copperas Cove entries
Several Copperas Cove entries involved arrests on warrants or court-related matters. At 4:44 a.m. Tuesday, officers reported an arrest tied to two municipal court capias pro fine warrants for no driver’s license at Post Office Road and West Business Highway 190. Another arrest on a warrant for assault causing bodily injury was reported at 6:29 a.m. on East Avenue E.
Later, police said a person was arrested at 8:06 p.m. on East Business Highway 190 on a municipal court warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility. The city’s log also listed a disorderly conduct-fighting call at 9:16 p.m. on Courtney Lane and a report involving publishing or threatening to publish intimate visual material at 9:24 p.m. on Starlight Drive.
Lampasas police handle fraud, theft, an assault and multiple arrests
Lampasas police reported fraud at 5:19 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of North Key Avenue and a theft at 2:15 p.m. in the 100 block of North Park Street. Officers also noted a suspicious person at 1:15 p.m. in the 200 block of North Key Avenue and an assault at 4:22 p.m. in the 500 block of East Avenue H.
The Lampasas log included an arrest at 1:07 p.m. on Goldman Lane for driving with an invalid license with previous convictions, possession of drug paraphernalia and three warrants. Another arrest at 10:11 p.m. involved property theft and criminal mischief, both listed in the $100 to $750 range, on East Avenue F.
Harker Heights did not submit statistics for the police report
Harker Heights Police Department did not provide statistics for the Tuesday report. That means the daily crime list for the region came from the neighboring departments that did submit their numbers and call summaries.
