Here at Willow Glen High School, we have countless wonderful teachers who work hard to provide a well-rounded education for all students and make our school what it is. In this article, we’ll be shouting out two Willow Glen High favorites.
First, we have Willow Glen renowned and beloved US History and AP World History teacher, Mr. Hilbert. Mr. Hilbert has been teaching here for 12 years, and during this time he has carefully crafted an intricately decorated classroom. From a life-sized Darth Vader to flashing lights across the room to mimic a “Star Wars” ship, every detail of the class has been carefully selected to create a visually enticing learning space. When asked about how much money he spent on crafting his “Star Wars” themed classroom, Hilbert simply said “no comment.” With his long career here at Willow Glen and his love for history and teaching, it would be impossible to have Willow Glen be what it is without him.
Next, we have our beloved physics teacher, Ms. Banerjee. She has been teaching here for 12 years and loves teaching physics because it appeals to her logic and she feels students can apply it to their lives. The best part about teaching for her is interacting with the students, and that high school students are mature enough that she can be honest with them. When asked about her sense of humor that she has become somewhat famous for, she remarks that it’s vital because it allows for better connections with her students and shows them that it’s okay to make mistakes. In her spare time, Ms. Banerjee enjoys traveling and learning Indian classical dance. Some of her favorite places to eat in the area are Mastro’s Steakhouse and Eataly, both at Valley Fair Mall.
On behalf of Willow Glen High School students, our staff at the Ram Pages wants to shout out these wonderful teachers for doing what they do best. Keep up the great work!
