The Ram Pages

Who We Are

Welcome to the first edition of the Ram Pages in probably 16 years. It has been so long that nobody knows exactly when the Willow Glen High School student paper was last published. Nevertheless we are back, and we plan to strengthen the Willow Glen High School community’s interest in the world and in each other.

The Ram Pages documented the goings-on at the school and in the community from 1950 to 2007, adapting as decades passed and students found new perspectives on life. Unfortunately, the class found that they had no staff advisor to guide them through the production of the paper, so the journalism class and the Rampages were functionally defunct as of 2007.

Luckily, a certain Mr. Charles Benjamin of the Willow Glen Educational Foundation has awoken this sleeping beast from a twenty year long hibernation. An alumnus of WGHS and an active contributor to the school and community, Mr. Benjamin believes it to be of utmost importance that the school revives what was for so long its main source of communication with students, staff, and family. Mr. Benjamin’s prerogative has been supported immensely by the Willow Glen administration and student body, as is demonstrated by the class’s full roster.

Our staff has great aspirations for the paper: we hope to give all students a creative outlet for expression, increase media literacy amongst the student body, and foster a greater sense of community on campus. The Ram Pages staff also seeks to form connections with every member of the Willow Glen community, on campus and in the neighborhood, by way of sharing local stories that are not told in any other news publications. This will hopefully increase media literacy and general awareness of current events, interests very distant from the priorities of most Willow Glen High School students.

We hope that the Ram Pages will rekindle a much-needed sense of community at our school.
