During the month of December, Willow Glen
contains a handful of classic traditions for the
Christmas season: the tree lighting at Willow
Glen Elementary, ice skating at Sharks Ice, and
the dazzling lights all around town. Not too far
from Willow Glen High School, one house in
particular stands out profoundly for their glow-
ing display. For around 22 years now, Muriel
and Dave Pusateri of 1851 Cherry Ave have
been sharing a bit of Christmas magic with the
community by setting up their lights, having
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus visit, and collect-
ing donations for the Make-A-Wish founda-
tion. The whole community comes together to
celebrate and donate, and Muriel said that even
kids come with their allowance money to help
contribute. Furthermore, she says that see-
ing the children is always a special, positive
thing, and that these traditions really bring the
neighborhood together. Whether it be their festive traditions, or their dedication to giving
back to the community, the Pusateris truly
embody the spirit of Christmas and remind us
what the season is actually about.
